About this role
Overview We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support maritime consultancy projects involving vessel systems, port facilities, and offshore electrical installations. The role includes design review, troubleshooting, site inspections, and commissioning across new-build and retrofit projects. Responsibilities Review electrical designs for marine and offshore systems, including power distribution, control, and automation, to ensure technical accuracy and compliance Conduct site inspections, surveys, and troubleshoot electrical systems onboard vessels and at shipyards to resolve technical issues Assist in commissioning, testing, and validating electrical and control systems to ensure operational readiness Analyze technical drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation to support project execution Collaborate with shipowners, classification societies, contractors, and vendors to facilitate project requirements and compliance Ensure adherence to maritime standards and safety regulations such as IMO, SOLAS, and classification society requirements Provide technical input for retrofit, repair, and upgrade projects to enhance system performance and reliability Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation following site visits and inspections for project records Support project engineers and senior consultants in delivering project milestones and objectives Requirements Minimum a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 1–5 years of experience in marine, shipyard, offshore, or industrial electrical systems (fresh diploma holders with strong interest considered) Basic knowledge of power systems, motor control, PLCs, and switchboards Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including short-notice deployments Comfortable working in shipyard and onboard vessel environments Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems Effective communication skills for engaging multiple stakeholders and coordinating project activities Ability to work independently, adapt to changing conditions, and perform under pressure
