Purchaser (Tanker Vessels)

Responsibilities Manage procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants, and services for assigned tanker vessels (Crude, Product, Chemical or LPG). Find, evaluate, and negotiate with approved marine suppliers worldwide to get good prices and on-time delivery. Handle requisitions from vessels, checking that technical specifications and maker references are correct. Collect quotations, compare prices, and prepare purchase orders following company procedures. Work closely with Technical Superintendents and vessel crew to clarify requirements and urgency. Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery to ports worldwide, based on tanker trading routes. Track order status and follow up on outstanding items to avoid delays. Keep supplier records, pricing information, and procurement data updated in the purchasing system (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ, or similar). Follow company policies, ISM, ISPS, OCIMF and vetting requirements for tanker operations. Look into procurement trends and find ways to save costs without affecting safety or quality. Requirements Minimum Diploma in Logistics Management, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent would be an advantage. At least 2 to 4 years of experience in procurement, preferably with a ship management or vessel-owning company. Familiarity with marine procurement software, or a strong willingness to learn.
