About the Opportunity We're partnering with an established organisation undergoing an exciting data transformation journey. They are seeking a Data Engineer (Consultant) to support the development, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise data platforms that power business insights and strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust data solutions, designing intuitive dashboards, and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders in a cloud-enabled environment. Key Priorities for This Role We're looking for candidates with strengths in the following areas, in order of priority: Dashboard UX Design – Strong understanding of dashboard user experience and visual storytelling. Candidates should be prepared to showcase their portfolio or previous dashboard work during the interview. Dashboard Development – Proven experience building interactive dashboards using Amazon QuickSight, Tableau , or similar Business Intelligence tools. Coding Proficiency – Strong hands-on programming skills in SQL and/or Python for data extraction, transformation, integration, and analytics. What You'll Be Doing Support the day-to-day operations of enterprise data platforms, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining data pipelines. Develop, enhance, and optimise scalable ETL/data pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient data processing. Design and build intuitive, interactive dashboards that enable business users to make informed decisions. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Investigate and resolve technical issues such as connectivity failures, API timeouts, service disruptions, and pipeline errors. Support cloud transformation initiatives and contribute to the migration of data products and services. Develop reports to monitor platform performance, usage, and security events. Document technical designs, architecture changes, data pipelines, and system configurations. Create mock data, perform unit testing, and support deployment activities. Build and maintain DevOps pipelines to streamline deployment and release processes. Review and implement security fixes while ensuring compliance with data governance standards and best practices. Work closely with infrastructure and cross-functional teams to continuously improve the organisation's data ecosystem. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or IT Infrastructure. Strong portfolio demonstrating dashboard UX design , with the ability to explain design decisions and showcase previous work during the interview. Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Amazon QuickSight, Tableau , or similar Business Intelligence platforms. Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and integrating data. Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, or analytics. Experience working with ETL processes, data integration, and enterprise data pipelines. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Nice to Have Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar). Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines. Experience in server, database, or network administration. Experience administering Tableau Server, Talend, Microsoft SQL Server, or SAS Viya. PowerShell scripting experience. Familiarity with Agile software delivery methodologies. Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, business intelligence, data engineering, or related technologies. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
