We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Japanese to deliver engaging lessons to students in a multicultural learning environment. The successful candidate will support students in developing their Japanese language proficiency while contributing to the wider school community. Qualifications AJLC certification or equivalent is preferred Non-native speakers are welcome to apply (JLPT N2 or above required) Only Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents may apply Experience Preferably at least 2 years of experience teaching Japanese Prior experience working in a school setting is an advantage (as duties include administrative roles, extracurricular activities (ECA), conducting parent-teacher conferences in English, and preparing report cards and assessments) Candidates will be required to conduct a demo lesson during the interview (without students) Language Requirements Native-level Japanese or JLPT N2 and above Strong English communication skills Ability to teach Japanese in English to non-native Japanese students (indirect teaching method) Ability to independently handle communication with English-speaking parents, participate in school meetings, and understand instructions in English Non-native Japanese speakers are welcome to apply as long as they have JLPT N2 or above (or equivalent). A demo lesson will be required, so please feel free to apply. Job Responsibilities Teach Japanese (as a foreign language) across the school; experience teaching IGCSE Japanese is an advantage Prepare weekly reports, report cards, and assessments (mostly in English) Conduct parent-teacher conferences (PTC) in English Participate in administrative duties(in English) and extracurricular activities (ECA) (in Japanese) Plan, organize, and support Japanese-related school events Collaborate with homeroom teachers for native Japanese classes in both primary and secondary sections Benefits Cashless medical insurance available Performance bonus (based on school and individual performance) Salary increment scheme available (based on School and individual performance) ECA allowance provided Additional allowance for teaching during summer school (classes conducted in English; lesson plans provided by the school) Approximately 13 weeks of annual leave aligned with the school calendar 14 days of sick leave Bereavement leave provided Safeguarding: Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, ensuring every child feels safe to flourish and learn.
