Executive / Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Corporate Insurance Sales (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities: This role is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of existing Japanese corporate clients and overseeing the annual renewal of general (non-life) insurance policies. The incumbent will build long-term client relationships, understand clients' evolving business needs, and recommend appropriate insurance solutions and coverage enhancements. 1. Existing Client Portfolio Management (80–90%) Manage the annual renewal process for an assigned portfolio of Japanese corporate clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure excellent service and long-term customer retention. Understand clients' changing business needs (e.g. manpower changes, business expansion, coverage requirements) and recommend suitable insurance solutions. Gather and review relevant client information to assess changes in risk profile and coordinate appropriate coverage with internal stakeholders. Explain policy terms, coverage options, and renewal proposals to clients. Coordinate closely with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate policy renewals. 2. Business Development (10–20%) Support new business opportunities generated through referrals and internal sales teams. Respond to client enquiries and recommend suitable insurance solutions based on customers' business needs. Visit medium to large corporate clients when required (primarily for Senior Executive / Assistant Manager level). Identify opportunities to expand insurance coverage and cross-sell additional products within existing and prospective client accounts. 3. Other Responsibilities Liaise with Japan HQ regarding insurance programmes, reporting and other related matters when required. Support claims servicing department to facilitate the claim process and try to maximize clients’ satisfaction. Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned. Requirements: Experience in client-facing sales, account management, relationship management or customer service roles. Business-level Japanese to communicate with Japanese-speaking clients and liaise with Japan HQ. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset. Experience in commercial/general (non-life) insurance including corporate client management (CGI certification is required). Experience serving end-customers directly and/or Japanese corporate clients is an advantage.
