About the Job: We are seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer to own Tonik Bank's overall technology vision and lead our technology organisation. This is a board-level executive role at the heart of our mission to revolutionise digital banking in Southeast Asia. As CTO, you will set the technology strategy for the bank, provide executive oversight across engineering, architecture, data, infrastructure, and security, and represent technology at the highest levels of the organisation, including the CEO and the board. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology executive with deep expertise in AI, enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and scalable systems design. Job Responsibilities: • Technology Vision and Strategy: Own the bank's overall technology vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with Tonik's business objectives. Set direction across engineering, architecture, data, and infrastructure. Serve as the most senior technology voice in the organisation. • AI and Innovation Agenda: Set the bank-wide agenda for Artificial Intelligence and machine learning across products and internal operations. Identify emerging technologies and translate them into competitive advantages. Sponsor R&D initiatives and next-generation banking capabilities. • Enterprise Architecture and Scalable Systems: Own enterprise architecture governance and cloud-first strategy (AWS) across the bank's technology estate. Ensure alignment with TOGAF-based frameworks. Drive cost optimisation and performance engineering at an enterprise level. • Engineering and Platform Leadership: Provide executive oversight of the Head of Engineering and engineering leadership team, ensuring delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure software across all product areas. Set standards for engineering excellence, CI/CD, and operational maturity. • Cyber securityand Risk: Own the bank's technology risk and cybersecurity posture. Partner with information security, risk, and compliance functions to protect customer data and platform integrity. Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness. • People Leadership and Talent Development: Build, lead, and inspire a world-class technology organisation. Define organisational structure, hiring strategy, and leadership pipelines across engineering, architecture, and security. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous learning. • Regulatory Compliance and Governance: Ensure all technology operations comply with BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) digital banking regulations, PCI-DSS, and data privacy requirements. Own audit-ready technology governance and documentation, partnering closely with compliance, risk, and legal teams. • Board and Executive Engagement: Serve as the primary technology representative to the CEO and board. Communicate technology strategy, investment priorities, delivery progress, and risk posture clearly to the board and external stakeholders, including investors and regulators. • Customer-Centric Technology Strategy: Champion a customer-first technology culture where every strategic decision is rooted in delivering superior customer experiences. Partner with product, design, and business leadership to ensure technology enables personalisation, accessibility, and reliability for Tonik's growing customer base. Preferred Experience and Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. • 10+years of progressive experience in technology, with a track record in a senior executive technology leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent). • Proven track record of leading technology organisations in fintech, digital banking, or high-growth technology environments. • Deep expertise in AI/ML strategy, enterprise architecture, and cloud-native platform engineering (AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred). • Strong working knowledge of the TOGAF enterprise architecture framework. • Strong grounding in cybersecurity, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance in digital banking (BSP framework, PCI-DSS, data privacy). • Demonstrated ability to define and execute multi-year technology road…
