Kitchen Assistant

Key Responsibilities Support the head chef, cooks ensuring smooth daily operations. Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards. Assisting the Cook and Head Chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat. Ensure the quality of food items according to the standards in place. It includes ensuring all food items are in a perfect sanitary condition and applying the “First in First out” best kitchen practice. Monitor the production of food items to ensure they comply with the prescribed recipes and specifications. Adhere to all the standards of food presentation, production, and portioning controls. Wash and appropriately store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes. Ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times and give guidance to all culinary colleagues. Sweep and mop the kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen walls. Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies. Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
