About this role
Automation Development and Engineering · Design, develop, test, and maintain Ansible Playbooks to automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and remediation across infrastructure and applications. · Build, structure, and maintain reusable Ansible roles, collections, and inventories aligned with enterprise automation standards. · Operate and extend the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) –including job templates, workflows, and execution environments – to deliver scalable, governed automation at scale. · Develop self-healing workflows and automated runbooks to reduce manual intervention and improve reliability. CI/CD, Version Control and Quality · Manage automation code through GitHub, applying version control, branching, code review, and collaboration best practices. · Integrate Ansible automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, validation, and auditable deployment of automation artefacts. · Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles to ensure consistent, repeatable, and auditable provisioning. Reliability, Collaboration and Operational Excellence · Champion SRE frameworks and reliability practices, embedding automation into the delivery lifecycle. · Collaborate with Application, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Cyberteams to identify automation opportunities and reduce incident recurrence and toil. · Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standards, and mentor engineers on automation best practices. Skills Must have: · Strong hands-on experience in Ansible Playbooks development (roles, collections, inventories). · Experience in using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for automation delivery. · Possess minimally basic understanding of the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). · A good team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate across diverse stakeholders and vendors. Certification in the following areas will be advantageous: o Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation / Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) o GitHub Actions / CI/CD certification o Site Reliability Engineering Foundation /Practitioner (DevOps Institute) o ITIL v4 Foundation
