About this role
We are seeking a hands-on BIM Developer to join the Information Systems, Application Department to explore the latest Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies and develop innovative digital solutions that facilitate our regulatory development control workflows. You will work closely with the project development team to explore various BIM functionalities, develop and enhance customised software plug-ins, and create advanced tools that streamline integration with existing systems — driving continuous improvement in our digital capabilities. As a BIM Developer, you will play a key role in the IT team in the exploration and development of BIM solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Exploring and evaluating functionalities of various BIM software, and researching emerging BIM standards such as IFC to enhance existing solutions. • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining customised BIM software plug-ins and applications using programming languages such as C#, alongside BIM software such as Autodesk Revit and ArchiCAD. • Developing custom tools and automation solutions that streamline BIM workflows, ensuring seamless integration within BIM software platforms and optimising performance and user experience. • Developing and maintaining integrations between BIM software and existing enterprise systems. • Conducting rigorous testing and debugging of plug-ins and tools to ensure stability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. • Maintaining comprehensive documentation for developed solutions and providing training to end users as required. • Providing technical advice to team members on BIM-related tools and solutions. • Supporting go-live preparation and product deployment to end users. Knowledge A strong understanding of software architecture patterns and principles is essential. Knowledge of Open BIM standards (IFC) and testing frameworks would be an advantage. Familiarity with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and its application in geometric calculations would also be beneficial. Skills You should be proficient in C# and have hands-on experience with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit and/or ArchiCAD. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to optimise software performance, are essential. Experience with Python, particularly for integration with BIM software and implementation of geometric calculations, would be advantageous. Attitude You should be proactive in learning new technologies and staying current with developments in the BIM industry. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, works well in a collaborative team environment, and is committed to continuous improvement in their craft.
