Job Description The Primary English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons that develop students' language proficiency, confidence, and critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment while supporting each student's academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the School's curriculum and academic standards. Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, comprehension, and composition. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the different learning needs and abilities of students. Foster curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a love for learning. Encourage students to think independently and communicate effectively. Classroom Management Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment. Establish clear classroom expectations and promote positive behaviour. Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times. Student Assessment Assess students through classwork, homework, projects, quizzes, and examinations. Monitor students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback. Prepare student reports and maintain accurate academic records. Parent Communication Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents regarding students' academic progress and behaviour. Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide timely updates when necessary. School Responsibilities Attend staff meetings, training programmes, and professional development sessions. Participate in School activities, events, and projects as assigned. Collaborate with colleagues and the Head of Department to continuously improve teaching quality. Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the School. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related discipline. Teaching qualification (PGDE, PGCE, NIE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent) is preferred. Experience At least 2 years of teaching experience at the primary school level is preferred. Experience teaching the Singapore MOE English syllabus, AEIS English, Cambridge English, or equivalent programmes is an advantage. Fresh graduates with excellent academic results and a strong passion for teaching are welcome to apply.
