POSITION OVERVIEW This position falls within the Company’s Plastics Additives business. We are the leaders in specialty additives for polyolefins, with a portfolio of highly differentiated solutions that bring value to the markets we service. Our sales process is technical and complex, requiring active participation from our TS&D teams for successful business defense and growth. We continue to expand our presence in Asia-Pacific, supporting a broad range of customers across the plastics value chain. The role will report to the Global Technical Service and Development (TS&D) Director and will interact regularly with regional commercial leadership in Asia and collaborate closely with other TS&D colleagues based in Singapore and around the world. It operates with a high degree of autonomy in technical problem-solving while working in close alignment with regional and global stakeholders. The position is in-person, based in our Singapore office (where our laboratory is located), with an anticipated travel load of around 20-30% on average for a regular year, with certain months having higher demand than others. Expected travel includes conferences, tradeshows, and customer visits and field trials. The geographical scope of the position will be focused on Japan and Korea but might include other countries in Asia. Job Responsibilities: Your responsibilities are focused on the following areas: 1. Be the focal point for all technical matters related to customer work: Be the expert for questions related to our additives and the way they affect properties and processing conditions at our direct and indirect customers Develop deep relationships with key technical contacts at our customers; be their preferred point of contact for any technical matters Understand the problems that need to be addressed, translate them into hypotheses and execute experiments (lab or plant trials) to validate them 2. Work closely with sales, marketing, and R&D to align priorities, coordinate activities, and accelerate project execution and commercial outcomes Study and stay abreast of new polymers, additives, and applications Help assess the value generated by our solutions to the customer Identify customer needs and support the translation of technical values into commercial outcomes 3. Support our innovation process: Be an active member of our global technical community by sharing learnings and solving problems together Assist the New Product Development team when new products are first introduced to customers Generate insights through deep market and industry knowledge Job Requirements: B.S or M.S degree in Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science, or another related technical field 7 years of professional experience in direct customer support role or in a technical role in the plastics industry, preferably related to Polyolefins (PP/PE production, compounding, conversion, or additives / masterbatches) Fluency in spoken and written Korean is required, as the successful candidate will need to communicate directly with stakeholders and clients in the Korean market Good relationship-building and influencing capability Strong ownership mindset, including the ability to get things done and drive projects forward Resiliency and discipline to persevere in ambiguous and complex situations Capability to structure and prioritize work across multiple parallel initiatives Ability to guide discussions, challenge assumptions, and drive alignment with customers and internal teams Demonstrated ability to support and elevate the performance of the organization (mentorship, knowledge sharing) Skills in presentation and written communication Interested candidates who wish to apply for the advertised position, please click on “Apply”.
