Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Deputy General Manager (Feed Business) to oversee and drive the performance of our feed operations across Papua New Guinea and Africa . The incumbent will be responsible for the end-to-end management of feed manufacturing and business operations, including production, supply chain, procurement, sales support, technical services, financial performance, and people leadership. Working closely with country management teams, the role will focus on delivering sustainable growth, improving operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and supporting future expansion initiatives across the region. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring extensive stakeholder management and regular travel to operating sites across Papua New Guinea and Africa. Key Responsibilities 1. Business& Operational Leadership Support the Group in developing and executing the overall business strategy for the Feed Division across Papua New Guinea and Africa. Drive operational excellence and ensure consistent implementation of operational standards across all feed mills and related facilities. Monitor and improve key business performance indicators including production efficiency, profitability, inventory management, quality, and service levels. Identify opportunities to increase operational productivity, reduce costs, and optimize asset utilization. Lead operational reviews and provide strategic recommendations to senior management. 2. Feed Manufacturing & Technical Excellence Oversee feed mill operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. Ensure product quality, formulation integrity, and compliance with regulatory and company standards. Work closely with nutritionists, production teams, and technical personnel to improve feed performance and customer outcomes. Support the implementation of best practices in feed manufacturing, quality assurance, and maintenance management. 3.Commercial & Business Development Partner with country management teams to drive revenue growth and market expansion. Identify new business opportunities, products, and market segments. Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. Support commercial negotiations and key account management initiatives where required. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, raw material availability, and industry developments. 4. Supply Chain & Procurement Management Provide oversight of sourcing and procurement strategies for key feed raw materials. Ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chain operations across multiple countries. Drive inventory optimization and working capital improvements. Work closely with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to mitigate supply risks. 5. Financial Performance & Governance Drive profitability and ensure achievement of annual budgets and business targets. Review and monitor operating costs, capital expenditure, and investment proposals. Strengthen internal controls, compliance, and risk management frameworks across the region. Ensure timely operational and management reporting to senior leadership. 6.Leadership & People Development Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to country managers and functional heads. Build a strong talent pipeline and succession planning framework across the feed business. Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety. Support leadership development and capability building initiatives throughout the region. 7. Strategic Projects & Expansion Lead or support strategic projects including feed mill expansions, new market entries, process improvements, and operational transformation initiatives. Evaluate investment opportunities, business acquisitions, and strategic partnerships where applicable. Drive integration and standardization efforts across multiple operating countries. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Feed Technology, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. Experience Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within the animal feed, agribusiness, livestock, poultry, or related industries.
