Performance Tester - Contract

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to design, implement, and execute performance testing strategies that ensure our applications meet scalability, reliability, and responsiveness requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with industry- s tandard load testing tools and APM platforms, a deep understanding of system architecture, and the ability to collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Key Responsibilities •Design and implement performance test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios based on system architecture and business requirements. •Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, or Gatling. •Simulate various load conditions (load, stress, endurance, spike) and analyze system behavior under test. •Monitor system performance using APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic) and correlate metrics with test results. •Identify performance bottlenecks across application layers (UI, API, database, infrastructure) and work with development teams to resolve them. •Create and manage test data and test environments for performance testing. •Document test results, performance metrics, and tuning recommendations in detailed reports. . Participate in performance tuning and capacity planning discussions. Required Skills & Qualifications •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. •Proven experience as a Performance Test Engineer or in a similar QA/performance engineering role. •Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, or Gatling. •Working knowledge of APM tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic. •Solid understanding of web application architecture, including UI, API, database, and infrastructure layers. •Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Java, Groovy, Python, or JavaScript) for test script customization. •Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance tests into automated workflows. •Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to correlate metrics across multiple systems. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications •Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) •Knowledge of database performance tuning (SQL/NoSQL). •Experience with capacity planning and non-functional requirements (NFR) definition.
