Senior Specialist, AI And Advanced Technology Catalyst (Atc)

The Position Summary As Senior Specialist, AI and Advanced Technology Catalyst (ATC) , reporting into the Head of AI and Advanced Technology Catalyst (ATC) at Amplify Health, you will be the company's senior AI and Data Science expert, applying Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence — including Generative AI and Agentic AI — to solve business problems across the full innovation cycle, from problem discovery through prototyping, piloting and production handover. The role requires both deep technical domain expertise, spanning Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI and Agentic AI, and broad health insurance industry knowledge, spanning Operations, Fraud Detection, Network Management, Consumer Experience, Life Sciences. The role places an emphasis on a strategic mindset that identifies high-leverage customer and product pain points and how to solves for them through applied-AI-based innovation, resulting in cutting-edge products and capabilities. Working closely with Product and Engineering teams in a fast-paced, scale-up environment. You will manage priorities and stakeholder expectations, communicate with and influence senior leadership and clients, and guide and mentor junior individual contributors as the team's AI subject matter expert — while building thought leadership and intellectual property in the healthcare domain. Responsibilities 1) Drive Applied-AI-based Innovation to build cutting-edge products and capabilities · Combine latest and emerging advances in the field of AI with the needs of Amplify Health’s customers to design, develop, prototype and pilot innovative solutions · Use latest AI Coding Agents such as Claude Code and / or Codex and / or GitHub Copilot to accelerate the innovation cycle · Be able to create a minimum viable product combining front-end and back-end (data plus AI) 2) Oversee the work of a small team (2-3) of junior Individual Contributors · Allocate tasks for each sprint to junior employees and oversee their work from design to development to evaluation · Help junior employees develop both hard and soft skills pertinent to their role in the ATC team; align them with team and company goals; assist with performance reviews 3) Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure Innovation translates into impact · Upon successful completion of pilot, work with Product and Engineering teams to bring the innovative feature / capability into production and drive impact for Amplify Health’s customers · Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams during hypercare to ensure hardening of the innovative feature / capability Candidate Profile Experience and Qualifications · 10+ years hands-on experience in applying Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence to solve business problems, with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in an innovation-focused role and 2 to 3 years of experience guiding and mentoring junior employees · Demonstrated success in delivering business value through the innovative application of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI and Agentic AI, traversing the full journey from problem discovery to prototyping to pilot to production handover · Proven experience in solving industry-scale problems in Healthcare and thought-leadership leading to the creation of intellectual property and patents · Proven experience in working closely with Product and Engineering teams to develop and deliver cutting-edge features and capabilities in a fast-paced environment · Proven ability to communicate with and manage senior leadership, clients and other stakeholders · Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS or relevant) preferred.
