Job Title: Indian& South Asian Art Specialist Location: Singapore Reporting to: Managing Director Department: Art Sourcing Position Summary: Build and strengthen AstaGuru’s Indian & South Asian Art category across Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian market by driving sourcing,developing collector networks, and establishing a strong pipeline of high-quality consignments. The role focuses on identifying culturally significant and investment-grade works while positioning AstaGuru as a key player in the regional art ecosystem. Primary Responsibilities ● Source high-quality works across Indian and South Asian art, including modern, contemporary, and classical categories ● Build and maintain relationships with collectors, galleries, dealers, artists, and institutions across the region ● Develop and expand a strong network of HNI/UHNI clients and art advisors ● Drive category-building initiatives by identifying key artists, estates, and collections for sourcing ● Research, evaluate, and assess artworks for authenticity, provenance, and auction potential ● Build and manage a structured pipeline of consignments for auctions and private sales ● Track market trends and pricing benchmarks within Indian and South Asian art markets ● Collaborate with internal teams(research, cataloguing, marketing) to support catalogue development and storytelling ● Represent AstaGuru at art fairs,exhibitions, and private collector events ● Travel within the region as required for sourcing and relationship building Qualifications ● 5+ years of experience in Indian/South Asian art, galleries, auction houses, or art advisory ● Strong exposure to international art markets preferred ● Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or related field ● Postgraduate qualification preferred Competencies & Skills ● Strong knowledge of Indian and South Asian art history and markets ● Proven ability to source and evaluate artworks ● Strong network within the art ecosystem (collectors, galleries, advisors) ● Excellent research, documentation,and analytical skills ● Strong relationship management and communication skills with a polished professional presence ● Independent, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset ● Understanding of HNI/UHNI client behaviour ● Proficiency in MS Office tools
