Group Compliance & Data Protection Officer - Reits

The Role Our client is a leading REIT management company with a diversified portfolio of commercial, industrial, retail, and logistics assets. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Group Compliance & Data Protection Officer to lead our compliance and data protection functions across the Group. This is a strategic role that will work closely with senior management, business units, and external stakeholders to foster a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance Responsibilities Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Singapore Exchange (SGX), and other relevant regulatory bodies. Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and testing programmes. Provide regulatory advice and guidance to business stakeholders on compliance-related matters. Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks, including AML/CFT, personal data protection, and market conduct requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the REIT and its operations. Serve as the Group's appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO). Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws in all jurisdictions where the Group operates. Develop and maintain data protection policies, standards, and governance frameworks. Advise business units on privacy-by-design principles and data handling practices. Requirements Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accountancy, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 to 10 years of compliance, regulatory, risk, audit, or legal experience within REITs, real estate funds, asset management, financial services, or listed companies. Strong understanding of MAS regulations, SGX Listing Rules, REIT regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Professional certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent are advantageous.
