Compensation: Up to S$8,500/month + 13th-month bonus + up to 3 months variable bonus Work Arrangement: 5-day work week, Monday to Friday BullionStar is Singapore's leading precious metals dealer. We sell, buy back, store, and deliver physical gold, silver, and platinum to customers worldwide — from first-time buyers to institutional investors. We operate a full-service showroom in Singapore, a comprehensive e-commerce platform, and vault storage facilities across multiple jurisdictions. We are independently owned, founder-led, and intentionally lean. There are no layers of corporate bureaucracy here. Decisions are made quickly, everyone is close to the customer, and every person in the business has a direct impact on what we deliver. We've built our reputation on trust, transparency, and doing things properly. We're looking for people who are drawn to that kind of environment — people who want ownership, not job titles, and who find energy in building something rather than maintaining something. Why This Role Exists This is the top of our IT function. As we scale across multiple locations, we need one person to own the entire IT and infrastructure estate — to set the strategy and build it with their own hands. Our systems protect customers' wealth and keep a live, high-trust business trading every day; the person who owns them cannot afford to be one step removed from the work. This is a player-coach role. You'll lead a small, hands-on IT team — setting the standard, unblocking them, and growing their skills — while staying deep in the technical work yourself. You'll own security and compliance, design and run the infrastructure and networks the whole business depends on, and carry real delivery load personally. You'll report jointly to our CTO and Deputy CEO, and you'll have the autonomy to make the call and the responsibility to see it through. What You'll Own You own the IT and infrastructure function end to end: IT strategy and roadmap. Own the internal IT strategy, align technology decisions with business goals, set the direction, and ensure the teams executes it to the highest standard. Infrastructure across the estate. Design, build, maintain, and upgrade the server, systems, and networking backbone — on-site and across our multiple locations — so it is reliable, scalable, and secure. Networks end to end. Own network architecture, configuration, and complex troubleshooting — from cabling and Wi-Fi to high-level design (including Ubiquiti). Security and access control. Own IT security — endpoint protection, identity and access, CCTV and physical-access hardware, and the systems that protect both the business and our customers. Compliance and resilience. Ensure IT practices meet the data-protection and compliance standards expected of a precious-metals business, and own backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Leading the team. Lead, mentor, and grow a small, hands-on IT team — setting standards, removing blockers, and holding a high bar while staying in the work with them. Hands-on delivery. Stay close to the tools — provisioning, building and repairing hardware, racking servers, pulling cable, and personally solving the hard problems when they land. Procurement, vendors, and budget. Own IT procurement, vendor and contract management, and budget planning across the whole estate. Projects and third parties. Scope and run IT projects and rollouts and manage third-party suppliers and technicians to your standard. Asset and estate management. Keep the full IT asset register accurate and current, so we always know what we run, where, and why. Who We're Looking For This is a senior role and real technical depth matters — but we care just as much about judgement, discipline, and drive. The right person will have most or all of the following: Deep, hands-on technical background. You've built and run infrastructure yourself — servers, networks, and systems — and you're still at home in the work, not just directing it. Strong networking and infrastructure expertise. High-level network design and troubleshooting, including experience with Ubiquiti, and comfort across hardware, software, and multiple operating systems. Security-minded and trustworthy. You think about risk constantly and treat privileged access with discretion — essential in a business safeguarding customers' wealth. A player-coach leader. You lead a small team by example, set the standard, and get your own hands dirty. People want to work wi…
