General Ledger (GL) Specialist – SEA Job Description Reporting to the Manager – Finance (SEA) at the Singapore headquarters, the experienced General Ledger (GL) Specialist will support regional accounting operations by accurately posting accounting entries into the accounting systems for multiple Southeast Asia (SEA) entities. The role will execute journal postings based on instructions and supporting documentation provided by SEA accountants, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with group accounting policies, whilst coordinating closely with the Singapore HQ. Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: General Ledger Posting & Accounting Support Accurately posting journal entries into the accounting system based on instructions received from SEA accountants including bank entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, tax, payroll, intercompany postings, forex revaluation, and other closing adjustments according to the instructions from Accountants Ensuring proper supporting documents for completeness, clarity and proper authorisation before posting Ensuring correct account mapping, cost centres, entities, project codes and posting periods are applied Following up with SEA Accountants to clarify incomplete or inconsistent posting instructions Month-End and Period Close Support Supporting month-end and year-end close by ensuring all instructed entries are posted within group timelines Tracking posting status and completeness of entries across SEA entities Assisting in cut-off procedures by ensuring entries are posted to the correct accounting periods Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Quality Control Supporting preparation of balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling item Assisting in identifying posting errors, duplicate entries and coordinating corrections Maintaining audit trail for all posted entries, including approvals and supporting documents Controls, Compliance and Audit Ensuring compliance of postings with group accounting policies, internal controls, and local statutory requirements Supporting standardisation of journal templates and posting processes across SEA entities Supporting external audits by providing posting logs and supporting documentation Assisting in any other ad-hoc reports or filings, as required Requirements Degree / Diploma in Accountancy related qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on GL experience, preferably managing multiple entities or regions Experience covering SEA markets and prior exposure to shared services is highly advantageous Working knowledge of ERPs – experience in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central highly regarded Proactive, accountable, and comfortable working independently Strong communication skills to work effectively with regional stakeholders and Singapore HQ Detail-oriented, self-directed, organised and able to manage multiple entities and deadlines Able to work in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment to meet tight reporting deadlines Location Job location for the above position is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Contact Information Please send your CV along with a cover letter indicating your earliest start date and salary expectations to careers@cleantechsolar.com with “GL Specialist – SEA MY” in the subject.
