Open Shift Infrastructure Engineer (Red Hat OCP) Main Purpose of the Role Responsible for the administration, patching, vulnerability management, and operational support of the Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform (OCP) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, ensuring platform availability, security, performance, and compliance with organisational standards. Key Responsibilities Manage the patching, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Linux servers. Ensure the availability, performance, stability, and compliance of the Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure in accordance with organisational standards. Partner with Engineering, Design, Change, Run, Application, and Development teams to support OCP platform requirements, standards, optimisation, and troubleshooting. Plan and execute platform deployments, installations, upgrades, patching activities, and disaster recovery (DR) testing. Provide Level 3 (L3) operational support for Red Hat Open Shift, including system administration, change implementation, performance tuning, and availability management. Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of OpenShift environments. Conduct platform health checks, technical assessments, and provide best practice recommendations to L1 and L2 support teams. Provide technical advisory and implementation support for platform upgrades, migrations, operator management, and security remediation. Investigate and resolve OpenShift platform, container, and configuration issues, working closely with internal teams and Red Hat/vendor support to ensure timely resolution. Collaborate with Network, Windows (Wintel), Security, Storage, and other infrastructure teams to support platform maintenance and enhancement activities. Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation covering architecture, configuration, operations, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery procedures. Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve platform administration and operational efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on platform reliability, operational efficiency, automation, and cost optimisation. Manage and deliver infrastructure enhancement projects where required. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience supporting Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) within an enterprise environment. Strong hands-on experience with: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Kubernetes Docker/Containers Open Shift Image Registry Microservices architecture DevSecOps practices Strong understanding of container orchestration, Kubernetes administration, and cloud-native technologies. Experience performing platform patching, vulnerability management, upgrades, and migrations. Proven experience providing L3 infrastructure support within an SLA-driven environment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure. Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple infrastructure and application teams. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment. Experience with scripting and automation is highly advantageous. Willingness to participate in weekday on-call support and weekend maintenance activities on a rotational basis. Interested candidates may apply directly with an updated resume.
