VP, Data Security Engineering

Our client is a leading global investment organisation with a strong focus on technology, innovation, and cybersecurity resilience. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise data security solutions to safeguard critical business information across on-premise and cloud environments. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to strengthen the organisation's data protection capabilities. Key responsibilities: Design, implement, and enhance enterprise data security solutions to protect sensitive data across on-premise and cloud environments. Lead the deployment and optimisation of technologies including Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), and other enterprise data protection solutions. Develop and enhance capabilities for data discovery, classification, encryption, masking, tokenisation, and information rights management. Evaluate and implement cybersecurity technologies through proof-of-concept (POC) and proof-of-value (POV) initiatives, while partnering with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into enterprise platforms. Provide technical expertise, architecture guidance, and documentation to continuously strengthen the organisation's data security posture. Requirements At least 10 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 8 years in Cybersecurity or Information Security. Proven hands-on experience implementing enterprise data security technologies, with expertise in Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), or similar data protection platforms. Experience securing enterprise environments across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with scripting or programming skills in Python, Java, C#, or similar languages. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technology and business teams.
