Job Summary: A global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation is seeking a Senior / Lead Embedded Firmware Test Engineer. In this role, you will apply domain expertise and robust engineering practices to drive embedded firmware testing activities. You will lead test strategy, planning, and execution across multiple concurrent projects, reporting directly to the Embedded Software Manager. Key Responsibilities: Test Leadership: Drive the creation of master test documentation, including comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and final evaluation reports. Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor to guide, upskill, and support junior test engineers within the team. Requirement Analysis: Translate complex functional requirements and design specifications into detailed test cases and optimized test requirements. Automation & Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and firmware functional tests using Python based on global engineering standards. Review & Optimization: Participate actively in feature requirement reviews and continuously analyze existing test suites for coverage improvement. Defect Management: Debug hardware/software failures, report anomalies, track bugs, and escalate critical project blocks to management on time. Continuous Improvement: Manage regression testing cycles and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test KPIs. The Essentials (Requirements): Education: Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience: 5+ years of experience in test engineering, with a proven track record acting as a Technical Lead or Test Lead. Automation Skills: Strong experience in test automation methodologies and mandatory scripting experience in Python . Technical Domain: Deep knowledge of real-time embedded systems (RTOS) and hardware-software interaction. Processes: Familiarity with Agile frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and methods for test coverage optimization. Tools: Experience using industry-standard bug tracking, anomaly evaluation, and test management systems. The Preferred (Good to Have): Experience setting up and developing physical test laboratories. Knowledge of industrial communication networks, fieldbus protocols (e.g., HART, industrial Ethernet), and network analyzers. Strong cross-functional communication skills to engage with diverse engineering teams and drive technical decisions.
