Grand Hyatt Singapore is seeking a Director of Finance to join the hotel’s Leadership Committee and serve as the strategic finance leader for the property. This is a senior leadership role for a commercially-minded finance professional who can safeguard the financial integrity of the hotel while helping the business make better decisions, improve performance, and deliver sustainable value for the ownership, guests, colleagues, and Hyatt. Reporting to the General Manager, with a functional reporting line to Regional Finance, the Director of Finance will work closely with the hotel leadership team, ownership representatives, Regional Finance, Operations, Commercial Services, and other functional leaders. The role requires more than accurate reporting and strong controls. We are looking for a finance leader who can translate numbers into insights, challenge assumptions constructively, identify risks and opportunities early, and help the hotel make clear choices on performance, investment, productivity, guest experience, brand delivery, and long-term value creation. This role requires the judgment and presence to operate in a complex city hotel environment with significant owner, brand, commercial, operational, and stakeholder expectations. Key areas of leadership include: Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance review processes Maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring compliance with Hyatt policies, owner obligations, local regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards Providing clear business insight to support revenue growth, cost discipline, productivity, profit flow-through, cash generation, and return on investment Supporting capital expenditure, FF&E planning, owner-funded projects, and asset stewardship Partnering with operational and commercial leaders to improve hotel performance while protecting guest experience and brand delivery Driving process improvement, simplification, data quality, automation, and responsible use of technology and AI-enabled tools Leading, coaching, and developing the Finance team, building capability, accountability, engagement, and succession strength The ideal candidate is someone with: A tertiary or professional accounting qualification, with strong technical grounding High standards of integrity, discretion, accountability, and professional judgment Prior supervisory-level external audit experience with an international firm, with exposure to chain hotels Strong finance leadership experience in hospitality, ideally within a large city hotel, regional, or multi-property environment Sound knowledge of hotel operations, F&B, commercial drivers, owner relationships, management agreements, brand standards, and asset performance Strong working knowledge of USALI, statutory and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audit, tax, cash management, and balance sheet discipline Strong analytical and commercial capability, with the ability to turn complex financial information into clear business insight Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports, presentations, and business commentary, and to communicate complex financial information with clarity, precision, and confidence Confidence working in a matrix environment with hotel, regional, corporate, ownership, asset management, and external stakeholders Strong influencing skills, including the confidence and courage to challenge constructively and engage senior stakeholders with clarity and judgment Experience in leading teams, developing talent, managing change, and building cross-functional relationships Comfortable with technology, data analytics, automation, and more future-ready ways of working We are looking for a leader who: Protects the business while enabling growth Uses numbers to improve decisions, not merely to report history Balances commercial ambition with financial discipline Sees Finance as a partner to the business, not a back-office gatekeeper Builds trust through clarity, consistency, and transparency Develops people and strengthens future capability Works across silos and contributes to enterprise outcomes Acts with care, courage, and accountability This appointment is suited to a finance leader who is technically strong, commercially alert, calm under pressure, and motivated by the opportunity to influence performance through insight, trust, and disciplined execution.
