Senior Chef (Indian Cuisine) Job Description We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Chef to join our authentic Indian restaurant. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef and Assistant Head Chef in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, preparing high-quality Indian cuisine, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting beverage and counter operations when required. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic North Indian and South Indian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and quality standards. Assist the Head Chef and Assistant Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen. Ensure food is prepared consistently with excellent taste, quality, and presentation. Prepare ingredients, sauces, spice blends, marinades, and mise en place for daily service. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of all kitchen work areas and equipment. Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries. Minimise food wastage and ensure proper storage of food items. Guide and assist junior kitchen staff in daily food preparation. Operate the beverages and drinks counter, including preparing tea, coffee, lassi, juices, and other beverages when required. Assist with customer orders and counter service during peak operating hours when necessary. Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure efficient and timely food service. Carry out any other duties assigned by the Head Chef, Assistant Head Chef, or management. Requirements Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Senior Chef or Chef in an authentic Indian restaurant. Good knowledge of Indian cuisine, including tandoor dishes, curries, biryani, Indian breads, vegetarian dishes, and traditional cooking techniques. Ability to multitask between kitchen duties and beverage preparation. Good understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive work attitude. Preferred Qualifications Food Safety certification is an advantage. Experience working in Singapore or other international restaurant environments is preferred. Ability to communicate in English.
