About this role
•Perform routine systems administration tasks to ensure infrastructure operates reliably. Assist in implementing remedial actions during system failures or breakdowns, maximising uptime and minimising disruption to business operations. •Maintain and enforce security standards across systems infrastructure. Manage user access controls, monitor for security vulnerabilities, apply patches and updates, and ensure compliance with the organisation's security policies and regulatory requirements. •Support the administration and upkeep of network infrastructure. Monitor network performance, assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues, and carry out routine maintenance tasks to ensure stable and secure network operations. •Monitor and report on SLA performance for systems support. Identify risks to service continuity, track key performance indicators, and contribute to defining and reviewing service targets in line with business expectations. •Support the integration of new systems and platforms into the existing infrastructure. Test and validate integration points, troubleshoot compatibility issues, and ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across systems. •Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies in systems support processes. Lead or contribute to improvement initiatives that reduce incident recurrence, optimise response times, and enhance overall systems reliability. •Plan and coordinate systems-related projects from initiation through to completion. Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables while communicating progress to stakeholders and mitigating risks that could impact systems availability. •Maintain accurate records of system configurations and changes. Ensure all configuration updates are logged and traceable in line with change management procedures to support audit readiness and system integrity. •Engage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provide clear, timely communication on system incidents, planned maintenance, and project updates. Manage expectations and ensure stakeholders remain informed throughout the support lifecycle. •Track and maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets including hardware, software licences, and infrastructure components. Ensure assets are properly assigned, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with organisational policies. •Support the procurement of systems hardware, software, and infrastructure services. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery, licence compliance, and cost-effective acquisition of IT resources.
