Sous Chef Role Summary As our Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently every day. This is a hands-on role with team leadership, ensuring every dish meets our quality standards while supporting a positive and well-organised kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Support the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Prepare and cook menu items while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Assist with baking and pastry production, where required. Supervise, train, and support kitchen team members to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. Ensure food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are consistently followed. Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise food waste. Conduct quality checks to ensure all dishes meet company standards before service. Help maintain an organised, clean, and safe kitchen. Step in to oversee kitchen operations and lead the team in the absence of the Head Chef. Requirements Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or in a similar kitchen leadership role. Strong cooking skills and confidence working across different stations. Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team. Strong organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for delivering great food and service.
