Job Summary Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods while maintaining quality, hygiene, and consistency. Support kitchen operations by assisting with mise en place, inventory management, and collaborating with the team to ensure smooth service. Responsibilities Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked goods following recipes and quality standards Assist with daily mise en place by preparing ingredients and setting up equipment for service Maintain consistent product quality, presentation, and portion sizes for all baked items Support the Pastry Chef or Sous Chef in developing new menu items and seasonal recipes Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with stock rotation and inventory control to reduce waste Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in compliance with food safety standards Minimize food waste through proper handling, storage, and portion control practices Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and timely service Assist with receiving and storing deliveries following food safety procedures Required competencies and certifications Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Baker, Pastry Cook, or similar role Basic knowledge of baking, pastry, and dessert preparation techniques Ability to follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency and quality Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices Good organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays Preferred competencies and qualifications Passion for baking and a strong eye for detail and presentation Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work well as part of a team
