Our client is looking for a hands-on and responsible Safety Officer to support workplace safety, health and environmental compliance across its operations. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting site inspections, identifying workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees, contractors and site personnel. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations, internal safety policies and safe work procedures. Implement and maintain risk assessments, safety procedures, permit-to-work controls and workplace safety practices. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across workshops, warehouses, service areas and operational sites. Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and workplace hazards, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. Support safety controls for lifting operations, crane and truck maintenance, hot works, working at height, equipment handling and material movement. Conduct and review risk assessments, job safety analysis and method statements for operational activities. Investigate workplace incidents, near misses and safety non-compliance cases, including preparation of incident reports and recommendations. Maintain proper safety records, inspection reports, incident logs, training records and statutory documentation. Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, induction training and refresher training for employees, contractors and site personnel. Promote safety awareness and encourage reporting of hazards, unsafe practices and near misses. Monitor contractors, subcontractors and service providers to ensure compliance with company safety requirements. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and that safety equipment, emergency exits, fire safety equipment and first aid facilities are properly maintained. Work closely with Operations, Workshop, Warehouse, Logistics and Facilities teams to embed safe work practices in daily operations. Liaise with external safety consultants, auditors, contractors and regulatory authorities when required. Coordinate fire safety and emergency preparedness matters, including organising fire drills, maintaining emergency response procedures, liaising with SCDF where required, and forming and supporting the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT). Requirements Diploma, Advanced Certificate or relevant qualification in Workplace Safety and Health, Engineering or related field. Registered WSH Officer qualification will be an advantage. Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, construction, steel, metal fabrication, warehouse or industrial environments. Good knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation and safety management systems. Experience in conducting safety inspections, toolbox meetings, risk assessments and incident reporting. Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, lifting operations, hot works, working at height and contractor safety management will be advantageous. Hands-on, proactive and able to work closely with operational teams on the ground. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage workers, supervisors, contractors and management. Meticulous, responsible and able to follow through on safety findings and corrective actions.
