ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Duties Provide effective Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy support for clients across various care settings, under the guidance of therapists and/or therapy associates. Prepare and set up therapy materials and equipment for patient/client use. Perform prescribed treatments as instructed by therapists, under supervision. Supervise prescribed exercises or therapy activities. Communicate therapy session updates and relevant observations to therapists. Accurately document patients’/clients’ progress and maintain records. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed. Conduct basic or routine group therapy sessions, e.g., community gym program, adaptive sports, PT gym Maintain effective communication and collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Education & Training Take ownership of individual training plans and actively participate in professional development. Participate in departmental in-service training and relevant external courses. Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement projects. Administration & Operations Ensure cleanliness and safety of therapy areas. Adhere to infection control protocols. Assist patients with appointment scheduling and related administrative support as appropriate Maintain departmental inventories and therapy equipment. Provide input during work group meetings to enhance quality care for residents. Identify operational or clinical issues and make recommendations to improve departmental processes. Other Duties Perform additional duties as assigned by therapists. QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE Relevant certification or qualification in therapy support. Certification from HMI Institute is an advantage. Prior experience working in intermediate or long-term care settings, or with elderly and/or persons with disabilities, is strongly preferred. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Physically able to assist clients safely and perform manual handling duties as required. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines. Able to multitask, priorities workload, and work independently with minimal supervision.
