Manager (Media Engagement)

You plan and execute public and digital communication efforts in support of MINDEF/SAF’s communication objectives, principally to preserve and strengthen public trust and confidence in national defence, National Service (NS) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). - Formulate publicity plans for mainstream and social media platforms - Work with media organisations on feature stories - Draft responses to forum letters and media queries Develop local and international media engagement strategies - Manage public communications during incidents and unplanned events Challenge(s) - Working with multiple stakeholders to understand complex policy and operational issues - Developing effective communication strategies under time pressure - Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or Information and Communication Technology/Digital Media - Strong command of written and spoken English - Proficiency in another language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) is advantageous - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Keen interest in Singapore's media, political, defence and security developments - Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape - Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail - Meticulous and detail-oriented - Ability to work odd hours and travel overseas at short notice Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
