Assistant Director (Professional Exchange & Outreach)

You will drive Professional Military Education (PME) exchanges and strategic communications plans for SAFTI Military Institute (SAFTI MI). As the de facto Unit Information Officer for SAFTI MI, you will lead external engagement and communications efforts that build SAFTI MI's credibility and international standing. - Organise and execute professional exchanges with foreign militaries and foreign military institutes - Provide specialist input to develop SAFTI MI's External Engagement Strategy and Workplan - Lead coordination on all external exchanges and visits to SAFTI MI - Track adherence to Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with both local and overseas exchange partners - Manage knowledge of key professional exchanges and takeaways from exchanges - Develop SAFTI MI's external and internal communications plans, and serve as the main secretariat to drive the SAFTI MI Communications Working Group and its workplan - Manage SAFTI MI's communications channels, including the SAFTI MI LinkedIn page, to deliver consistent and engaging updates at a regular cadence Challenge(s) - Acquiring the contextual knowledge to develop a credible professional exchange and communications strategy that supports institutional goals - Navigating the strategic and operational levels of communications simultaneously, while pushing new boundaries in external outreach, content creation, and Defence Relations matters - Education in Communication Studies, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred - At least 6 years of relevant experience in Strategic Communications, encompassing areas such as public relations, public engagement, media production, media relations, and/or Defence Relations - Strong expertise in public communications, external engagement, and managing defence exchanges - Bold and open-minded approach to strategising professional exchanges and outreach - Tact and sensitivity in coordinating with external exchange partners - Strong organisational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills - Independent, responsible, and responsive - Ability to manage competing priorities across diverse stakeholders Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
