Description of Division: As part of the RPG family, the Probation, Reintegration and Gambling Safeguards (PRGS) Division is responsible for the effective rehabilitation of offenders on court orders, spanning both community-based programmes and residential placements in Youth Homes, with the maximum participation of their families and the community. Through holistic case management, individual, family sessions and inter-agency collaborations, we deliver targeted interventions to steer offenders away from offending behaviours and towards leading socially responsible lives. This includes working with at-risk siblings within the family unit, recognising that early identification and intervention with siblings play a critical role in breaking the cycle of offending and strengthening overall family resilience. Brief description of Job Scope: Reporting to the Chief Probation Officer, you will conduct assessments of families of offenders placed on community-based orders and youths in residential care. Following the family assessment, you will be the lead family worker, providing wraparound family interventions required for the offender, at-risk siblings and parents which involves casework management, rehabilitation, reintegration for youths placed in residential care and engaging multiple stakeholders and volunteers Responsibilities: Management of offenders, at-risk siblings and families of offenders: • Case management: Conducting assessments of families referred by the Courts formulating and implementing care plans for offenders, and making recommendations on type of family interventions required, including identifying and addressing the needs of at-risk siblings within the family unit • Delivering evidence-informed family interventions in individual or in group settings and monitoring their progress, in close partnership with families and the community stakeholders, with particular attention to the risk and needs of at-risk siblings • Work closely with stakeholders such as caregivers, school authorities, employers and community partners to address risks and needs identified. • Engaging and supporting at-risk siblings of offenders through targeted assessments and interventions, in recognition of the heightened vulnerability of siblings within families involved in the criminal justice system. • Contributing to operational policy and planning in strengthening rehabilitative outcomes for offenders, at-risk siblings and their families • Participating in initiatives as part of cross-disciplinary work in supporting the continuum of intervention for families- at-risk and youth offenders, including collaborative efforts to identify a…
