About this role
Job Summary: System Engineer with 1–3 years of relevant experience to support the deployment, testing, commissioning, and operation of smart infrastructure systems. Candidates with exposure to smart lighting, smart metering, or IoT-based systems will be highly preferred. The role involves both office-based and site-based work, including system onboarding, troubleshooting, and ad-hoc support for critical operational issues. Key Responsibilities: - Support testing and commissioning of smart systems (e.g., smart lighting, smart metering, or similar IoT solutions). - Assist with the onboarding of field devices to backend platforms during installation and deployment. - Perform system validation and functional testing to ensure proper connectivity and performance. - Troubleshoot and resolve site issues such as: Device connectivity failures Communication (comms) failures Backend platform integration issues - Provide ad-hoc troubleshooting support when issues arise, especially for critical systems. - Work closely with vendors, installers, and internal teams during deployment and issue resolution. - Document test results, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken. Required Qualifications: Education: Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Systems, or related disciplines). Experience: - 1–3 years of experience in system engineering, preferably in: Smart lighting systems Smart metering systems IoT, automation, or smart infrastructure projects - Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, and system troubleshooting . - Basic understanding of networking and communications (e.g., IP networking, wireless communications, gateways). - Comfortable working on-site and supporting installations. - Able to respond to ad-hoc troubleshooting requests , including time-sensitive or critical issues. - Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Preferred Skills: Experience with IoT platforms, device provisioning, or backend systems Familiarity with field devices, sensors, controllers, or gateways Prior experience working with system integrators or infrastructure projects Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Work location: AMK (subject to site activities) Employment Type: Contract (renewable)
