PUB targets to reduce our carbon emission to support the public sector’s target of achieving net zero emission around 2045. One of the key strategies to the increase renewable energy production through the deployment of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on our land installations and in our reservoirs. In land-scare Singapore, our vast reservoir surfaces have great potential to hardness renewable energy, allowing reservoirs to serve as both water catchment and storge, as well as for clean electricity generation. PUB is looking for a candidate to lead our renewable energy initiatives in support of national and public sector’s sustainability goals. As part of the Solar team, you will be responsible for: Develop and oversee the solar master plan to accelerate deployments towards PUB’s commitments to maximise solar potential. Formulate solar-related policies, encompassing management of Renewable Energy Certificates (on-site vs off-site consumption) and solar contract business models (PPA, Contract for Difference). Undertake upstream planning for large-scale floating solar deployments, including inter-agency collaboration, feasibility studies, land valuation, and developing business models. Coordinate with PUB departments on solar deployment matters. Keep abreast of developments to enhance solar efficiency and explore novel deployment approaches (e.g. deployment over canals, coupling with energy storage systems, solar façade systems). Carry out feasibility studies and pilot for novel solar concepts. Prepare updates at various Whole-of-Government meetings on solar-related polices and progress. Undertake EIA studies for solar projects and carry out nature groups engagement, if required. Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, with proven ability to drive projects in tight timeline. Experience in solar and electrical connection systems will be an advantage. Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across departments/ agencies. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. A strong sense of initiative; able to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate should also possess a passion for sustainability, is self-motivated and have ability to thrive under tight deadlines. They should be adaptable to a nascent and evolving role and demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp new information.
