Lead Teacher: Humanities

Roles and Responsibilities: The Middle School Lead Teacher is responsible for maximizing student learning and development through the planning, preparation, and teaching of comprehensive educational programs that meetstudents' individual learning needs and achieve specific student outcomes. They foster academic growth, social development, and critical thinking skills while creating an inclusive learning environment that supports students' holistic development. Develop and Implement Curriculum : Design and deliver a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with school standards and educational goals and is in line with the science of learning. Teach English & humanities, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, group work, and project-based learning, to engage students and promote critical thinking. Create a Positive and Inclusive Classroom Environment : Foster a supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and respected. Establish clear expectations for behavior, classroom routines, and academic goals, creating a structured and nurturing environment. Promote social-emotional learning, helping students build essential skills such as empathy, collaboration, and self-regulation. Assess Student Progress and Provide Feedback : Regularly assess students’ academic progress through formal and informal assessments, including tests, quizzes, projects, and observations. Provide constructive, timely, and personalized feedback to students to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Use data from assessments to adjust teaching strategies and support individual learning needs. Differentiate Instruction to Meet Student Needs : Tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to succeed.
