What you'll do: As a Derivatives Sales Analyst, you will play a pivotal role within the Institutional Equity Division by engaging directly with trading professionals and institutional clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve learning about client needs, building lasting relationships, assisting in the development of compelling investment ideas, and supporting the execution of complex trades. You will leverage your analytical skills to provide valuable insights into client revenue streams while helping optimise commission management. Work alongside the Trading team to learn about the client base and establish as well as maintain long-term relationships with institutional clients. Assist in developing and presenting investment ideas while mastering the fundamentals of selling and cross-selling the firm’s diverse product offerings. Support the execution of trading ideas by conducting thorough analysis and contributing to all aspects of the market-making trade process, including research analytics on trades and relative value analysis. Apply innovative thinking and solutions-based approaches to design both investment and risk management products across multiple asset classes. Analyse market fundamentals by liaising with researchers to develop insightful investment recommendations for internal stakeholders and external clients. Provide comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analytics around client revenue and profitability, helping manage commission dollars efficiently through increased transparency. Manage comprehensive risk for the equity business, including non-market risk, regulatory compliance, counterparty risk, client documentation, and governance responsibilities. Advise internal teams and external clients on risk optimisation strategies while ensuring operational resilience and efficiency across the department. Contribute to business control unit functions by supporting regulatory compliance initiatives and maintaining robust governance standards. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to share knowledge, support collective goals, and foster an inclusive work environment. What you bring: The ideal candidate for the Derivatives Sales Analyst position brings proven experience from sales & trading or middle office roles within financial services. Your academic background—preferably in finance, mathematics or engineering—equips you with strong analytical capabilities that are vital for success. You possess deep knowledge of derivatives markets which enables you to contribute meaningfully across product structuring, trade execution analysis, and client advisory functions. Your advanced Excel skills allow you to handle complex data sets efficiently while supporting revenue analytics initiatives. At least one year of related working experience in sales & trading or middle office roles within financial services is required for this position. A degree majoring in finance, mathematics, or engineering is preferred; however, candidates from other academic backgrounds are also welcome if they demonstrate relevant skills. Your ability to remain calm under pressure on the trading floor during long hours will be essential for thriving in this fast-paced environment. A high work ethic combined with a genuine willingness to learn ensures you can adapt quickly to new challenges while contributing positively to team objectives. Being detail-oriented allows you to deliver accurate analyses that inform key decisions across trading activities and client interactions. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with VBA programming is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
