Our client is an established marine-fuels trading organisation seeking a commercially focused Bunker Trader to join its Singapore office. The successful candidate will manage marine-fuel enquiries, develop customer and supplier relationships, negotiate transactions and contribute to the profitable growth of the company’s regional trading activities. Responsibilities Market and trade marine fuels, lubricants, and related products to shipowners, operators, managers, and charterers to expand business reach Respond to customer enquiries by providing competitive quotations based on product availability, specifications, credit exposure, and prevailing market conditions Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery conditions, and other commercial terms with customers and suppliers to secure profitable deals Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing clients and supply partners Monitor marine-fuel prices, crude and product markets, port developments, and regulatory changes to inform trading decisions Coordinate with suppliers, agents, operations, and credit teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of marine fuels Manage transactions from quotation and confirmation through delivery, invoicing, and payment to ensure smooth order fulfillment Resolve operational and commercial issues promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction and operational efficiency Manage counterparty exposure by adhering to approved credit limits to mitigate financial risk Maintain accurate records of enquiries, transactions, margins, and customer activity for reporting and analysis Achieve agreed revenue, margin, and business-development targets to contribute to company growth Conduct business in compliance with applicable sanctions, anti-bribery, compliance, and ethical requirements to uphold corporate integrity Preferred competencies and qualifications Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business, Finance, or a related discipline At least 5 years of relevant experience in bunker trading or marine fuels Understanding of marine-fuel products, pricing, specifications, and delivery procedures Knowledge of the Singapore and regional bunker markets Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-management skills demonstrated through successful deal closures and client retention Good numerical ability and attention to detail applied in pricing and transaction management Ability to make sound decisions and manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment Effective written and verbal communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders What Our Client Offers Competitive base salary and performance-based incentives Exposure to a major international marine-fuel trading hub Opportunities to develop a regional and international client portfolio Professional development and career-progression opportunities
