Salling Search is currently recruiting for a Petroleum Products Trader for a leading Philippine fuel retail and petroleum distribution company with a nationwide network of service stations and distribution infrastructure. The company holds a strategic partnership with Saudi Aramco and is expanding its commercial trading capabilities through a dedicated trading desk based in Singapore. Responsibilities Source, negotiate, and execute the purchase of petroleum products (gasoil, mogas/gasoline, and asphalt) from foreign suppliers in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, on both term and spot basis Manage cargo nominations, shipping schedules, and the full transaction lifecycle from deal execution through to delivery coordination Coordinate with the company's strategic partner, Saudi Aramco, on supply agreements, pricing terms, and commercial arrangements Monitor and analyse MOPS, Platts, and Argus pricing benchmarks, providing timely recommendations on procurement timing, pricing strategy, and market positioning Build and maintain working relationships with refineries, NOCs, IOCs, and independent trading houses across the Singapore hub and wider region Liaise with internal logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless cargo execution, documentation, and payment processing Track supply-demand dynamics, regional refinery run rates, freight markets, and geopolitical developments that may impact pricing or product availability Expand commercial coverage into additional product lines — including lubricant base oils, bitumen, and other refined products — as the trading desk grows Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum products trading in Singapore or the broader Asia-Pacific region Direct trading experience in gasoil, mogas/gasoline, and/or asphalt, with strong working knowledge of MOPS, Platts, and Argus pricing benchmarks Established network of refinery, NOC, IOC, and trading house contacts in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region Demonstrated experience negotiating and executing deals with major trading houses, national oil companies, or integrated oil companies Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to operate with speed and precision in a fast-moving market environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear market reports and internal briefings for senior leadership Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field Preferred Experience with bitumen, lubricant base oils, or other speciality refined products Familiarity with Philippine petroleum import regulations and DOE pricing frameworks Prior exposure to building or growing a trading desk from an early stage Contact Ellaine Legaspi at ellaine@sallingsearch.com for more info or apply via our website.
