About this role

DSV is responding to meet high demands for customs consultancy driven by increasing globalization, complex trade regulations, and supply chain disruption for our existing and new potential large global customers. You will join Global Customs commercial team and help build DSV customs and trade consultancy services. Providing customs consultancy services on behalf of DSV to our customers has long been part of our business. However, to support our growth strategy we wish to meet our large customers’ needs for a single, global harmonized consultancy product designed for solving challenges of customs processes optimisation and complexities of regulatory changes. Your team will work closely with DSV regional customs operational teams, commercial office, DSV divisions, legal and compliance and customer relationship management business stakeholders to adapt and develop consultancy processes. “A customer focus and delivering on promised value creation takes team effort and collaboration across all DSV countries. It is all about facing and engaging with the customer to make sure the need for enhancing their supply chains is fulfilled,” Be in touch with large customers and colleagues around the world Your job will be to support the end-to-end consultancy process, to deliver to client high-quality and compliant projects from initial concept to final delivery to evaluation. This also means that a large part of you rrole will be customer-facing as well as have a high level of interaction with internal stakeholders in DSV as you: - Develop, review, and edit compelling customs and trade consultancy services, while collaborating with DSV divisions and GCO to ensure competitive, profitable pricing strategies. - Compliance & Advisory: Interpret complex, changing customs laws and provide guidance on international trade regulations both internally within DSV and externally to clients including export control. - Classification: work with internal classification team to ensure customer’s goods are classified using harmonized systems and determine appropriate duty rates for duty calculation and obtain binding ruling where necessary - Valuation: Determining the appropriate valuation method and customer value the goods correctly for duty purposes providing analysis to support transfer prices for related party transactions. - Risk Management: Enable the audits assistance service to identify compliance gaps, manage customs risks, and mitigate potential penalties. - Duty Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings through preferential trade agreements, free trade zones, and duty drawback programs. Logistics profile with a flair for customer interaction Most likely, you will have a background working in existing consultancy business either, as part of the professional service advisory firm or customs brokerage business. Moreover, you: · Are comfortable participating in customer facing meetings, virtual calls and presentations · Thrive in an atmosphere where you work on several tasks at a time without losing your customer focus · Most likely have experiencewith TMSs (transport management systems), customs declaration platforms and proficientnavigating Excel and of course MS Office · Are fluent in English · Have a great sense of thecommercial relevance of consultancy services for global and regional tradelanes · Understand worldwide customs processand global trade. · Are comfortable leading a teamto achieve tangible results. · Have great understanding of Regulatory& Legal Frameworks for multiple countries, comprehensive understanding ofnational and international customs legislation, taxes, and non-tariff controls. · Expertise in the HarmonizedSystem (HS), General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), and customs valuationmethods. · Knowledge of import/exportprocedures, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), rules of origin, and documentaryrequirements. · Have experience in identifyingnon-compliance risks, managing audits, and utilizing special procedures likebonded warehousing or inward processing. · Some familiarity with customsmanagement software, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), APIs and governmentcustoms portals.
