About this role
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, system integrations, and cloud infrastructure to support data analytics and AI initiatives. You will work across data engineering, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and AI enablement, helping to consolidate data from multiple sources into centralised platforms and ensuring data is secure, reliable, and fit for business use. You will collaborate closely with data analysts, infrastructure teams, product teams, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust data solutions and support the development of analytics and AI-powered applications. Working Hours: Mon-Fri Working Location: Central Salary Package: Up to $10,000 (basic) + AWS Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Analytics Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions. Develop data models and architectures to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence. Monitor data quality, pipeline performance, and reliability to ensure timely and accurate data delivery. Define data collection standards, technical specifications, and system integration requirements. Plan and execute data migration projects from legacy relational systems, including schema mapping, ETL/ELT design, data validation, and cutover planning. Cloud Infrastructure Provision, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services, particularly within AWS environments. Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform to support consistent and repeatable deployments. Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams on system integrations and cloud operations. Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and support security and vulnerability remediation. Data Exploration & AI Enablement Assess existing datasets and data sources to identify data quality, availability, and readiness gaps. Map data landscapes and identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and usability. Support the transformation of unstructured data into structured and usable formats. Prepare high-quality data inputs to support AI, NLP, and LLM-based applications. Work with cross-functional product teams throughout the development and implementation lifecycle of data and AI solutions. Data Governance & Standards Establish and document data governance standards, policies, access controls, and data lineage practices. Promote data quality, reproducibility, transparency, and best practices across data infrastructure. Contribute to data literacy and knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical teams. Ensure data solutions adhere to security, governance, and organisational standards. Requirements 5–8 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field . Strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and data architectures. Experience working in complex, ambiguous, or greenfield environments where data structures may be incomplete or evolving. Hands-on experience with AWS services , such as S3, Glue, Redshift, and Lambda. Strong experience working with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) . Good understanding of database structures, query optimisation, and integration patterns. Strong knowledge of data modelling , including both OLTP and OLAP environments. Experience planning and executing data migration projects, including schema mapping, data validation, and cutover planning. Proficiency in Python and SQL . Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration . Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Experience working in Agile and cross-functional product development environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable working with ambiguity and able to bring structure to complex or undefined problems.
