Job Type : Part-Time / Contract Location : Queenstown (Queenstown Primary School, 310 Margaret Drive) Working Hours: Minimum 3 days (up to 4 days) per week; 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (includes 30-minute lunch break) Job Description We are looking for a firm yet empathetic Discipline Support Officer (DSO) to support student management, school discipline, and case management operations. Reporting directly to the Student Management Committee, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, positive, and restorative environment for primary school students. Key Responsibilities Investigative & Case Support : Assist in preliminary investigations, conduct fact-finding interviews, take witness statements, and prepare incident reports. Detention & Restorative Support : Supervise recess, lunch, and daily detention sessions; guide students through reflection and restitution activities. Suspension Monitoring : Maintain a structured environment for suspended students, ensure their learning continuity, and assist with re-entry support. Campus Patrol & Prevention : Maintain a visible adult presence during recess, dismissal routines, and lesson transitions to proactively manage behaviour. Mediation : Assist in simple peer reconciliation and conflict mediation contexts. Job Requirements Qualifications :Diploma in Early Childhood, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Youth Work, or Community Services; OR Retired law enforcement officers (Ministry of Home Affairs); OR Retired school staff with experience in student management and discipline roles Skills & Attributes :Remaining calm under pressure when handling challenging situations with parents or students.Confident in managing challenging student behaviours and holding difficult conversations. Passionate about mentoring and supporting children under 14 with social-emotional or disciplinary hurdles. Comfortable drafting formal reports and handling strictly confidential case files.
