Job Purpose The Business Development & Commercial Executive will drive revenue growth and market presence for the company's offshore vessel related business (e.g., AHTS, PSVs, crew boats, accommodation barges, construction support vessels, OSVs) by identifying new business opportunities, managing charter negotiations, and maintaining strong relationships with oil majors, drilling contractors, EPC companies, and other offshore charterers. The role combines commercial acumen, market intelligence, and contract negotiation skills to maximize vessel utilization and profitability. Key Responsibilities Business Development Identify and pursue new chartering opportunities across offshore oil & gas, renewables (offshore wind), and marine construction sectors. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, including oil majors, NOCs, drilling contractors, EPC firms, and offshore support companies. Monitor tender boards, RFQs, and RFPs; prepare and submit competitive commercial proposals and bids. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to build brand visibility and relationships. Develop and execute strategies to expand market share in target regions (e.g., West Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, North Sea, as applicable). Commercial & Chartering Management Manage the end-to-end chartering process: enquiry handling, rate negotiation, charter party drafting/review, and fixture closure. Negotiate charter terms (time charter, bareboat, spot/voyage) including day rates, mobilization/demobilization terms, off-hire clauses, and other commercial conditions. Prepare and maintain fixture recaps, charter party agreements, addenda, and related commercial documentation. Market Intelligence & Reporting Track offshore vessel market trends, day rate benchmarks, and regional demand drivers. Maintain CRM/database of clients, brokers, and market contacts. Support budgeting and forecasting processes with commercial input on charter rates and utilization projections. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Act as the primary commercial point of contact for chartering clients and brokers. Coordinate with legal/compliance teams on contract risk review and approval. Support post-fixture matters including invoicing queries, dispute resolution, and claims coordination as needed. Key Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Shipping/Logistics, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Relevant maritime/chartering certifications are a plus. Experience 2–5 years of experience in offshore vessel chartering, ship broking, or commercial/business development within the offshore marine or oil & gas services sector. Demonstrated track record of closing charter deals and managing client relationships with oil majors, drilling contractors, or offshore operators. Familiarity with vessel types such as AHTS, PSV, OSV, crew boats, and construction support vessels. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of charter party terms (e.g., SUPPLYTIME, BIMCO forms) and offshore chartering commercial practices. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Commercially astute with strong analytical skills for rate benchmarking and market analysis. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/fleet management systems. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines. Willingness to travel for client meetings, tenders, and industry events as required. Other Requirements Understanding of offshore industry regulatory and HSE standards is an advantage. Existing network of contacts among charterers, brokers, and offshore operators is highly desirable.
