About this role

Our work in the Resilience and Engagement Division (RED) centres on strengthening national identity, enhancing social cohesion and solidarity, and commitment to contribute to the common good. We do this through three pillars of work which have an impact on both locals and newcomers into Singapore society: fostering a strong and inclusive sense of national identity, helping newcomers integrate into Singapore and appreciate what it means to be part of Singapore, and promoting a culture of volunteerism and giving. The SG Cares Office in RED develops policies and enablers to promote and strengthen volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore. Your role in the Policy and Planning team of the SG Cares Office includes the following functions. • Strategic Planning & Coordination: You will shape the agenda to build alignment across internal and external stakeholders on volunteerism and philanthropy initiatives. • Programme Development & Implementation: You will work closely with partners within and outside Government to develop, implement and assess the progress of programmes to grow volunteerism and philanthropy. Required Competencies Deep Critical Thinking • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think and reason with clarity • Distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information, arriving at effective solutions Data-driven Analysis and Business Development • Gather and analyse data, translating findings into actionable insights such as identifying new opportunities and emerging trends • Use data to shape the development of policies, programmes and products Stakeholder Engagement, Including Internal Stakeholders • Identify and prioritise stakeholders based on issue or domain area • Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders Other Competencies • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experiences • Relevant working experience in a role that involves policy or programme development is preferred but not mandatory. • Familiarity with the philanthropy sector, family offices, and charitable foundations is an advantage. • Experience in designing engagements, stakeholder engagement and cultivation in the social sector is an advantage. Personality Traits • A self-starter who is mature, resourceful and meticulous. • Works well within and across teams by building rapport and trust with others. • Possess a bias for action and a drive to effect change, solve problems, and see tasks through to completion.
