Position : Project Engineer (Mechanical & Piping) Functional Group: Project Execution Location: Site-based (Natural Gas Construction Projects), Hong Kong – HKE Lamma Power PMO Office Accommodation: Company-provided accommodation on Lamma Island Role Summary We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical & Piping Engineer with a strong commitment to safety to support the successful execution of mechanical and piping works for major power generation projects in Hong Kong. The successful candidate should possess solid technical expertise and site supervision experience, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities within operating plant environments. Experience in planning and overseeing piping and mechanical works in process industries, particularly within natural gas or power generation facilities, will be an advantage. Requirements Qualifications / Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience Minimum 5 years of practical site experience in mechanical and piping construction within the oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or other process industries. Prior involvement in natural gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, meter stations, terminals, or processing facilities, is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, heavy lifting operations, and interface coordination. Technical Knowledge & Skills Familiarity with Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health requirements is beneficial. Working knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes such as ASME and API. Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings. Understanding of welding processes, NDE techniques, and pressure testing requirements. Communication & Interpersonal Skills Good spoken Cantonese and strong written and verbal English communication skills. Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities. Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager in project planning, coordination of resources, and collaboration with the QHSE team. Coordinate and supervise subcontractor activities, including schedule management, manpower planning, quality assurance, and cost control. Plan and oversee installation, alignment, testing, and pre-commissioning activities for mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, tanks, and associated piping systems. Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards including ASME B31.3, API, and SS requirements. Prepare and review method statements and work procedures for site activities. Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, work progress, and quality standards. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports. Resolve site technical issues in collaboration with engineering teams, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure strict compliance with PTW requirements, site safety procedures, and Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Coordinate closely with Civil, Structural, and E&I teams to maintain efficient project execution and interface management. Maintain effective communication with client representatives, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
