About this role

Job Description We are looking for a responsible and proactive Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator to support the implementation of workplace safety and health requirements at our project sites in Singapore. The WSH Coordinator will assist the Project Manager, WSH Officer, site supervisors and project team in ensuring that work activities are carried out safely and in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, relevant WSH Regulations, approved risk assessments, safe work procedures, client requirements and company safety procedures. Roles and Responsibilities The WSH Coordinator shall be responsible for the following: 1. Assist in implementing and maintaining the company’s Workplace Safety and Health Management System at the project site. 2. Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and non-compliance with WSH requirements. 3. Report WSH findings to the Project Manager, WSH Officer and relevant site personnel, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. 4. Assist in the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures and Method Statements. 5. Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, excavation, traffic management, hot works, confined space work and plant/equipment operation. 6. Conduct safety induction, toolbox meetings and safety briefings for workers and subcontractors. 7. Assist in promoting WSH awareness and safe work behaviour among workers, supervisors and subcontractors. 8. Assist in incident reporting, investigation and implementation of corrective actions. 9. Maintain proper WSH records, including inspection checklists, toolbox meeting records, training records, permit records, equipment inspection records and incident reports. 10. Support emergency preparedness activities, including emergency drills, first aid arrangements and fire safety coordination where required. 11. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure their workers and supervisors comply with site safety requirements. 12. Assist in preparing for WSH audits, client inspections, authority inspections and internal safety reviews. 13. Monitor housekeeping, access/egress, barricading, traffic control, lifting zones and general site safety conditions. 14. Stop or highlight unsafe work activities where there is imminent danger, and immediately inform the Project Manager / WSH Officer / site management. 15. Carry out any other WSH-related duties assigned by the Project Manager, WSH Officer or management. Requirements 1. Possess WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, or other relevant WSH Coordinator qualification recognised in Singapore. 2. Preferably with relevant WSH experience in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, road works or building works. 3. Basic knowledge of Singapore WSH requirements, Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedures, Permit-to-Work system and site safety inspections. 4. Able to communicate with workers, supervisors, subcontractors and project team members. 5. Able to prepare basic WSH reports, inspection records and safety documentation. 6. Responsible, observant and willing to speak up on unsafe conditions. 7. Candidates with experience in LTA projects, civil engineering works, road works, drainage works, excavation, lifting operations or traffic management will have an added advantage. Key Competencies The suitable candidate should be: · Responsible and disciplined in following up on WSH matters. · Able to communicate safety requirements clearly to workers and supervisors. · Observant in identifying unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. · Firm but respectful when correcting unsafe practices. · Proactive in supporting a positive WSH culture at the workplace. Working Arrangement · 5-day and alternate Saturday work week, depending on project requirement. · Site-based role. · May be required to work on weekends or public holidays, depending on project requirements. Off-in-lieu will be granted for such work in accordance with company policy.
