About the Role A secondary school in Ang Mo Kio is seeking a Discipline Support Officer to support its Student Management Committee in managing discipline-related cases, detention sessions, in-house suspension arrangements and campus supervision. The role requires a calm, fair and developmental approach to student discipline. The successful candidate will work closely with school personnel to maintain a structured and supportive environment while helping students reflect on their actions and make positive behavioural changes. Key Responsibilities Investigation and Case Support Assist the Student Management team in documenting and following up on discipline-related cases. Gather factual information and support investigation processes as directed by the school. Maintain accurate and confidential records of incidents in accordance with established school procedures. Exercise discretion and procedural fairness when handling student-related matters. Detention Management Maintain attendance and behavioural records during detention sessions. Coordinate reflection and restitution activities with members of the Student Management Committee. Guide students in reflecting on their choices, consequences and strategies for improvement. Ensure detention activities are meaningful, structured and developmental. In-House Suspension Support Maintain a structured and supervised environment for students serving in-house suspension. Support the continuity of students’ learning during suspension periods. Guide students through reflection and reintegration activities before they return to their regular classes. Campus Supervision and Preventive Support Maintain a consistent adult presence through scheduled patrols during recess, lunch breaks, lesson transitions and other high-movement periods. Support lower secondary recess dismissal routines. Patrol the school vicinity and respond appropriately to student misconduct when required. Assist with straightforward peer reconciliation or mediation matters where appropriate. Deployment and Reporting Report operationally to the Student Management Committee. Follow the termly deployment schedule based on the school timetable, programmes and events. Work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders and student support personnel. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and respect for student dignity at all times. Requirements At least 10 years of relevant working experience in a uniformed service or comparable operational environment. Experience with the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service or a similar uniformed organisation would be advantageous. Experience in youth-related case investigations, behavioural support or restorative practices would be beneficial. Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills. Ability to respond to behavioural situations calmly and proportionately. Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to observe, document and report incidents accurately. Ability to build rapport with students while maintaining clear and consistent behavioural expectations. Experience in a secondary school or youth-related environment, familiarity with restorative discipline practices, and an understanding of developmental approaches to student management would be advantageous. Work Arrangements School term working hours: Monday to Thursday: 9.30am to 4.30pm, 7 hours per day Friday: 9.30am to 2.00pm, 4.5 hours per day Service is not required during school holidays, gazetted public holidays and selected non-school days.
