Location: Yishun, Singapore Contract Duration: 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2028 About the Role We are seeking a Science Laboratory Assistant to support daily science practical lessons, practical examinations, laboratory preparation, equipment handling, and general laboratory operations in a school environment. The role involves preparing apparatus and materials, assisting with chemical dispensing, clearing and washing laboratory equipment, replenishing reagents and consumables, and supporting safe laboratory practices in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health requirements and school safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Support daily science practical lessons and practical examinations, including preparation of apparatus and materials. Dispense chemicals and lay out apparatus, including glassware, chemicals, safety goggles, and related equipment, in advance of each practical session. Collect, clear, and wash glass apparatus after each practical session. Safely dispose of chemicals in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations and school safety protocols. Replenish bench reagents and consumables at the start of each school term during term break periods. Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Science Laboratory Technician or Head of Department for Science. Requirements Minimum primary-level education qualification. Able to read and write for the purpose of carrying out laboratory-related duties and safety instructions. At least 1 year of relevant working experience in a science laboratory setting from 1 January 2022 to the date of application. Basic knowledge of laboratory settings and chemical preparation procedures. Able to comply with relevant Workplace Safety and Health regulations and school safety protocols. Candidates must possess valid work authorisation in Singapore at the point of application. Preferred Competencies Familiarity with secondary school science laboratory environments. Experience handling chemicals safely, including proper disposal procedures. Meticulous and organised in equipment preparation and clearance. Strong communication skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude, initiative, and reliability in daily duties. Work Arrangements Working Days: Monday to Friday Working Hours: 7.30am to 4.00pm, inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break Non-Working Days: Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and the months of June and December each year Venue: On-site at a school in Yishun Application Candidates must be available to start by 1 August 2026 .
