Shipping Officer (Air Freight, Jurong East)

Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage end-to-end air freight import operations, ensuring timely receipt, handling, and delivery of cargo. Liaise closely with airlines, customers, ground handlers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth cargo movement. Prepare, process, and verify air waybills (AWB), customs clearance documentation, billing, and invoices. Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to customers and internal teams. Handle operational exceptions such as shipment delays, damages, discrepancies, and claims, ensuring prompt resolution. Ensure compliance with air cargo regulations, company SOPs, and industry standards. Work collaboratively with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to support service excellence. Maintain accurate operational records, including shipment details, cargo manifests, and billing information. Ensure accurate and timely billing in accordance with agreed rates and services rendered. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and operational best practices, and proactively share insights with the team. Perform other operational duties as assigned by the Manager. Requirements: 1–3 years of experience in air freight operations (import experience preferred). Familiarity with air cargo documentation, customs procedures, and billing processes. Strong coordination and communication skills. Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple shipments and deadlines. Proficient in MS Office; experience with freight forwarding systems is an advantage.
