The Butler is an operational role responsible for delivering professional service support and contributing to the smooth execution of service activities, events, and logistical operations. Working independently and as part of a team, the Butler applies trained competencies to uphold organisational standards and represent the organisation with integrity, service, excellence, professionalism, discipline, and teamwork. This role builds upon foundational training and requires the ability to operate with minimal supervision, maintain service readiness, and steward service quality in alignment with the organisational standards of Istana and President’s Office: • Service etiquette and protocol execution • Event logistics set-up and coordination • Asset care, hygiene, and operational discipline • Service readiness and independent operation • Organisation representation and service excellence stewardship • Executing service activities and protocol requirements to ensure consistent service quality and excellence • Coordinating and supporting logistical setup and execution of meetings, functions, and events through effective teamwork within the Butler Team and Household Section • Maintaining equipment, materials, and service areas with discipline and responsibility for organisational assets • Applying professional judgement in service situations, demonstrating professionalism and Integrity • Overseeing and executing formal dining service, including handling, presentation, and service in strict adherence to protocol, safety, and organisational standards • Ensuring discretion, respect, and professionalism when coordinating diverse dietary and beverage requirements • Operating independently with readiness and reliability in assigned duties • Contributing to continuous improvement of service standards and team effectiveness • Representing the organisation confidently with professionalism and discretion Singapore Citizen Knowledge & Experience • Foundational training or experience in hospitality, service, or operations • Working understanding of service etiquette and event support logistics • Familiarity with workplace discipline, asset care, and protocol adherence Skills & Abilities (Operational competence and independence) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Attention to detail and service quality awareness • Professional capability to manage and serve the full range of food and beverage items required for official functions, with integrity, discretion, and adherence to established protocols • Situational judgement and problem-solving capability • Effective coordination and collaboration • Time prioritisation and readiness Personal Attributes (Ownership & Stewardship) • Demonstrates reliability and strong work discipline • Commitment to service and excellence • Upholds Integrity and discretion in professional conduct • Demonstrates professionalism in presentation and behaviour • Positive contributor to teamwork • Respect for confidentiality and organisational values
