Our client is looking for a hands-on, responsible and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to support the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities. This role will be based in Tuas. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing materials, spare parts, equipment and services, process purchase orders, follow up on deliveries and maintain accurate procurement records. This role is suitable for candidates with junior-level purchasing experience who are keen to develop their career in an engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Source and purchase engineering materials, spare parts, equipment, consumables and services from local and overseas suppliers. Request quotations and prepare price comparisons for review and approval. Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and promptly. Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules and outstanding items. Coordinate with the Engineering, Workshop, Warehouse and other internal teams on purchasing requirements. Ensure that purchased items meet the required quantities, specifications and delivery timelines. Assist in negotiating prices, delivery terms and payment terms with suppliers. Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, quotations and purchase order documents. Monitor stock availability and assist with replenishment of commonly used materials and parts. Coordinate with suppliers on incorrect, damaged or defective items, including returns and replacements. Assist with shipping, delivery and import documentation for overseas purchases where required. Work with the Finance team to resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices and deliveries. Source alternative suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and improve product availability. Perform general procurement and administrative duties as assigned. Job Requirements Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline. At least 1 to 2 years of purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience . Candidates with purchasing experience in engineering, automotive, heavy equipment, manufacturing, fabrication or spare parts industries will have an advantage. Basic knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical parts, electrical components or spare parts is advantageous. Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience using ERP, inventory or purchasing systems will be advantageous. Good organisational and follow-up skills. Detail-oriented, responsible and able to manage multiple purchase orders. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Fresh graduates with relevant internship or purchasing experience may also be considered. Comfortable working in Tuas .
