About the Role SG Epay is looking for a BusinessDevelopment & Merchant Success Manager to support the growth of our localonline merchant portfolio, merchant onboarding, payment integration, andselected payment channel coordination. This role is suitable for someone with 3–5years of experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, PSPs, paymentgateways, e-commerce, or B2B merchant services. The role is not a pure salesrole. The candidate will need to understand merchant requirements, pricing,onboarding, payment integration, risk issues, and internal projectcoordination. Our business focus is mainly on onlinemerchants. The candidate should be comfortable working with local Singaporemerchants, payment partners, acquiring channels, and internal teams inSingapore and China. Strong spoken Chinese is required, as the role involvesfrequent communication with China-based management, technical, operations, andsupport teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Local Online Merchant Development Identify, approach, and develop local Singapore online merchants. Understand merchants’ business models, payment needs, transaction volume, target markets, pricing expectations, settlement requirements, and technical requirements. Focus mainly on online merchants, including e-commerce, online services, SaaS, ticketing, digital platforms, education platforms, and other suitable online businesses. Support commercial discussions with merchants, including pricing, payment methods, settlement cycle, reserve requirements, and onboarding timeline. Maintain good relationships with merchants before and after onboarding. 2. Merchant Onboarding and ProjectCoordination Coordinate merchant onboarding from initial discussion to go-live. Collect and review merchant documents, including company information, business description, website, product details, refund policy, transaction volume forecast, and supporting documents. Work with compliance, operations, risk, and technical teams to complete merchant review and onboarding. Coordinate API integration, test account setup, UAT, technical documentation, callback settings, and go-live support. Track merchant onboarding status, pending items, blockers, and next steps. Prepare clear internal updates and reports for management. 3. Merchant Success and AccountManagement Act as the main contact point for selected local merchants. Understand merchant feedback and coordinate internal support where needed. Follow up on transaction issues, settlement questions, refund issues, technical issues, and payment performance. Help merchants understand SG Epay’s onboarding, reserve, settlement, and risk requirements. Escalate merchant risk issues, complaints, chargebacks, abnormal transactions, or operational concerns to management in a timely manner. 4. Payment Channel and AcquirerCoordination Support management and operations team in coordinating with payment channels, acquirers, PSPs, gateways, banks, and payment partners. Depending on the candidate’s experience and capability, take responsibility for selected payment channel relationships in parallel with the operations team. Assist with channel-related projects, including new MID setup, merchant submission, commercial discussion support, compliance coordination, and technical integration. Follow up with payment partners on channel onboarding, merchant approval, technical testing, settlement arrangements, transaction issues, and operational matters. Work with the operations team to understand and follow up on channel-related data, including chargeback reports, fraud monitoring data, TC40 / TC15 reports, RDR / Ethoca status, and Visa/Mastercard risk-related information. Coordinate with internal teams in Singapore and China to ensure payment channel and merchant projects move forward smoothly. Translate business requirements into clear action items for technical and operations teams. Prepare regular progress updates for Singapore management and China headquarters. 5. Payment Risk Awareness Maintain basic awareness of payment risk issues, including chargebacks, fraud, merchant category risk, refund disputes, rolling reserve, settlement risk, and scheme monitoring. Understand that certain merchant categories may require security deposit, rolling reserve, or additional risk controls.
